Magic-infused FPS Immortals of Aveum launching in July — report

By Tom West,

Ascendant Studios and EA Originals' "groundbreaking" single-player fantasy FPS Immortals of Aveum, which is built using Unreal Engine 5, will launch on Xbox Series X|S in July, a report has claimed.

EA has revealed that an Immortals of Aveum announcement will arrive later this week via the publisher's website, but it looks like the game's July 20th release date for Xbox Series X|S has been leaked ahead of the event. However, we've only seen a vague teaser trailer for the game so far, so it could be worth tuning in on April 13th at 9am PDT/12pm EDT/5pm GMT/6pm CET as we could get our first proper look at the Unreal Engine 5-built magic FPS.

Immortals of Aveum reveal coming this week

As reported by reputable leaker Billbil-kun on Twitter, Immortals of Aveum is apparently set to launch on Xbox Series X|S on July 20th. If correct, the release date will probably be announced in an official capacity on April 13th. The game was announced during The Game Awards last year with a teaser trailer, but things have been pretty quiet since from both the developer and publisher.

Immortals of Aveum is the debut title from Ascendant Studios and will be published by EA Originals. So far, all we know is that it's a "groundbreaking new single-player, first-person magic shooter," which is utilising Unreal Engine 5 to take us to "an original fantasy universe engulfed in magic, rife with conflict, and on the verge of oblivion." Ascendant Studios was founded by CEO and game director Bret Robbins, who was previously the creative director on Visceral Games' original Dead Space, as well as creative director at Sledgehammer Games for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Advanced Warfare, and World War II.
