Amnesia: The Bunker delayed by a week

By Tom West,

Frictional Games has announced that its upcoming horror game Amnesia: The Bunker has been delayed by a week, giving the team a chance to apply extra polish while giving itself some breathing room from other launches.

Originally set to launch on May 16th, Frictional Games has now delayed the launch of Amnesia: The Bunker by a week to "strategically avoid releasing during a busy week" and to give the team additional time to polish the experience. Amnesia: The Bunker will now launch on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on May 23rd.

Amnesia: The Bunker is still coming in May

In a press release, Frictional Games says that it "understands the importance of providing players with a high-quality gaming experience," and as such, the additional week will be spent polishing Amnesia: The Bunker so it meets players' expectations. The delay also allows the developer to "strategically avoid releasing during a busy week when multiple other games are hitting the market."

Amnesia: The Bunker will now launch on May 23rd for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. In February, Frictional's creative lead Fredrik Olsson answered some of our burning questions about the upcoming game and discussed how the team is attempting to "make a really strong and focussed horror" experience.
